This post is my experience and personal review on Google+, A sort of random ramblings from my side. This post will comprise of the Pluses,Minuses and Comparisons of Google+ in terms of being a Social Network.

What Google+ Lacks When Compared to its Biggest Competitor : Facebook

Google+ lacks Wall Posting -
One of the most used feature on Facebook is its wall posting, People use wall posts to communicate and keep in touch with their Friends and Family (Afterall Friends on FB).
Google+ Lacks this feature and it will be hard for people especially Facebook Migratorsto adjust to this NON-Walled world.
Google+ lacks Pokes -
Remember the time when we all used to play Poke Wars? Yeps poke was an important yet playful and funny feature of Facebook which helped us to remind our long lost friends about ourselves.
~~Google+ lacks Reminders -~~
We have a lots of Social Network friends and we dont have Time and Energy(LOL) to remember all the Birthdays, Admit it people you called up your Classmate after you saw his birthday Reminder on Facebook isn’t it? Google+ is yet to roll out some of these features, Lets hope its still in the development mode.
Google+ lacks Download Photos -
Facebook had implemented the Download photos feature in the recent update and it was handy for those who are download freaks. This useful feature is still a mystery for G+.
Google+ lacks Fanpages & Groups -
Perhaps as a Blogger and a Facebook user I am more attracted to Facebook Fanpages (Join HackTabs on Facebook) than groups but Google+ lacks both the features.
Google+ lacks Games -
Facebook is well known for its addictive games like Mafia Wars,Fish Ville etc. Google+ does not have any such apps or games inbuilt.
Google+ Lacks Events and Questions -
One of the recent feature of Facebook is Polls or Questions. They can be asked to all the Facebookers and Events are created to inform your friends and family about the events that are ongoing or going to happen. Google+ Lacks this feature. [Credits : Adit Bharadwaj]

This is enough of Google+’s Negative criticism. Now lets look at the Positives that Google+ has in stock.

What Makes Google+ Unique among the Social Networks?

Streamlined Look -
The look of Google+ is more stream lined and eye catching with a White Background and Black Bar above the page.
Minimalist Profile Page -
The Profile page is minimalist,streamlined and removes all the fluff and includes all the important features like place to add Twitter,Facebook,Blog,Website links in the right hand side along with a new Space to add what all you want to Brag About
Faster,Smooth Photo Browsing -
Photo browsing has been never so smooth and easy with the Google+ photo browser from Picasa. The auto tag feature of Facebook has been implemented in a less annoying way in Google+ where the photo viewer recognizes faces and adds an option to Name them but does not auto do it.
Privacy of Status Updates -
In Facebook the privacy of status updates can be set but am sure 75% of its users never knew it existed as it is hidden in the form of a small Lock Icon. but in Google+ it is there right below your update where its has the box to fill in the circles with which you want to share it.
Friend Limit (Circle Limit) -
As far as I know there is no limit in the number of friends you can add to your circles in Google+ but Facebook has a limit of 5000 Friends.
Google+ Hangout -
Google+ Hangout has Group Chat in Video Mode but Facebook does not have Groupchat in video mode but does have Group Chat in normal chats.
Advertisements -
So far I have not seen any Advertisements on Google+ unlike Facebook which is filled with crappy ads across sidebar.
Animations -
Google+ has really cool HTML5 based animations like the roller wheel effect when we delete a circle in Google Circles Page.
Following limit -
As far as I know there is no limit on other people following you, (But there are forums saying there is 5000 Follow limit).
Upgraded Notifications -
Google plus has an upgraded Notification system where you dont have to open the notification to view or comment on the post. But one less star for Not being able toPlus One through Notifications. [Credits : Adit Bharadwaj]
